Our favourite events each year have to be our annual Barefoot Books Ambassador Conferences. These weekend-long events in Oxford, England and Concord, Massachusetts are a great opportunity for Ambassadors from all over the globe to gather as one and experience the joy of Living Barefoot. Our Ambassadors represent the Barefoot mission and work hard to build businesses of their own. This year our Conferences are in May and we can’t wait for the sound of our community celebrating, laughing and bonding—it’s the true sound of spring for us!


Global Sales Associate Taylor Coley and I recently took a trip to sunny Anaheim, California to attend the 2012 American Library Association Annual Conference. It was too great an adventure to embark on alone. So we brought Cleo the Cat along for the ride!


A very warm thank you to all of the Barefoot Books Ambassadors who travelled from near and far to our US and UK conferences. It was a joy to meet you all in person and I came away feeling very inspired by the conversations I had. I have taken particular note of the many requests for a wordless book; watch this space! I am home again in Somerset, after a fabulous visit to Concord for the Ambassador conference. Here are some of the memories that I have brought back in my suitcase:


Nearly fifty Barefoot Books Ambassadors from all across the United States braved the rain this past weekend to attend the annual conference in Concord, Massachusetts, under a big white tent glowing with wisdom, music, culture, and heart.


What happens when a group of children’s book lovers and successful business women spend a weekend together in the exquisitely gorgeous Oxfordshire countryside? Lots of story-swapping, camaraderie, best-practice sharing and fun it turns out!
