Every year, the museum at Concord, Massachusetts hosts a Family Trees exhibition. Each of the trees is thematically decorated; this year, we have invited French illustrator Sophie Fatus to decorate the Barefoot Books tree. As I write, Sophie is working away in her studio in Florence, Italy, taking her inspiration from ‘The Story Tree’. Here is a sneak peek at her work in progress: a few weeks from now, Sophie will be packing up all of her decorations and heading west on her first visit to North America to decorate the tree. For more information about 17th Annual Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature, visit the Concord Museum’s website. Watch this space for further developments!
