Every November, the BBC’s charity, Children in Need, is at the centre of a nationwide fundraising campaign on behalf of disadvantaged children. Children in Need’s vision is to ensure that every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and able to fulfil their potential. Friday was national ‘Children in Need’ day. At Barefoot Books, north Oxford, we had our first fund-raising storython; a ‘pay to add a sentence’ creative storywriting contest, and utterly irresistible spotty sock biscuits on sale in the Storytellers’ Cafe. We added in face-painting here, and a little African drumming there and everyone had a lot of fun! See below for a glimpse of some of our antics.
